Annie, Lang, and I came from very different backgrounds before we started Pier 61 Seafood. Annie was a successful computer salesperson. Lang’s expertise came from an Asian cuisine background – which she adapted marvelously to this our current style of cooking. Myself, I was in the finance industry. I’ve worked for Fortune 500 companies but just felt that I was missing something – my true calling.

We, the Pier 61 family, would like to thank everyone, past and present, who has supported us through the years! Annie, Lang, and I (Vincent) are so appreciative of the all the friends (our customers) that we have met along the way.

Annie, Lang, and I came from very different backgrounds before we started Pier 61 Seafood. Annie was a successful computer salesperson. Lang’s expertise came from an Asian cuisine background – which she adapted marvelously to this our current style of cooking. Myself, I was in the finance industry. I’ve worked for Fortune 500 companies but just felt that I was missing something – my true calling.

We have always had sound knowledge about the seafood industry. We’ve been linked with J&J’s Seafood Market for many years. So we know exactly how and where to procure the freshest seafood available. My brother John was a successful restaurateur in Laredo, Texas. What better combination can you ask for?

Our strong family bond prompted us to start our first endeavor Pier 61 Rosenberg in October 2004. It was a tremendous first experience to test our operations and especially our food. I knew I had the ability to cook and create but needed to know how well received would it be. Slowly but surely we were able to entice the local pallets and built a small following. Pier 61 Rosenberg gave us every opportunity to fine tune our craft and create a little bit of magic in the kitchen.

After about 2 years, we decided to up the ante and started Pier 61 Seafood on Murphy Road. We moved from a small tiny café to full blown restaurant and never looked back since. Annie’s brilliance with the customers gave us confidence that we would definitely move in the right direction. As for Lang, her presence in the kitchen is unparalleled. Her unwillingness to compromise on the quality of food has lead the kitchen in achieving consistency in food preparation and delivery. She is the unseen hand that moves Pier 61 since she rarely peeks out of the kitchen. As for me, I’m Vincent. I’m the chef that is responsible for the creations that you see, or will see, before you. We are all the family representatives of Pier 61.
